Dr Ashton is a general dermatologist with a special interest in dermatological surgery. 

He has been a consultant since 1984, and has wide experience in surgical techniques over the past 25 years.  He set up the Portsmouth Mohs service at Haslar Hospital in 1977.

His routine practice includes

Skin cancer surgery including Mohs surgery and excisional surgery
Basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, and melanomas.
Removal of benign skin lesions by excision, curettage and cautery or shave biopsy such as benign moles, warts, sebaceous cysts, skin tags etc.

Dr Ashton generally carries out most surgical procedures on a ‘one stop’ basis, i.e. the surgery is carried out at the first consultation.
